The Part They Remember

A storytelling dice game

Some questions don't quite know how to start. Some tables have been quiet for too long. Some groups want more than the news of the week, but don't know how to ask for it.

The Part They Remember is a dice game for the conversations underneath the conversations. Roll, draw, tell. The game gives you somewhere to start. The people at your table do the rest.

How It Plays

Each turn, a player rolls four dice — Everyday Life, Symbolic, Nature, and Emotions — and draws a prompt card. The card asks a question. The dice give you a frame to answer it through.

There are three kinds of cards in the deck:

  • Light cards are gentlest — conversational warm-ups that loosen the table.

  • Open cards are reflective, with room for a real answer.

  • Deep cards ask for vulnerability and trust the room to hold it.

You don't have to play through all three. Some tables stay in Light and Open all night and still find what they came for. Others move into Deep right away and stay there. The game doesn't push you anywhere, but it makes the path available if you want it.

If a prompt doesn't land, another player can answer for you. No one is required to go anywhere they haven't chosen to go.

A short interactive demo. Roll the dice, draw a card, see how the game works at your own pace.
